A Dog-Gone Great Time

The Ellis County SPCA held the 5th Annual Bow Wow Howl-O-Ween Hustle on Saturday and would like to thank all of the dogs and their humans who joined us for a wonderful day of fun in the park. Meet Ellis County's SPCA Executive Director
Dana White is the executive director of the Ellis County SPCA. She is originally from Alpine, Texas where she attended Sul Ross State University and majored in Biology with a Spanish minor. She has a young daughter, Lauren.

After relocating to Ellis County in 2004, Dana started as a volunteer with the Ellis County SPCA. Before the end of the year, she was offered the position of Animal Care Supervisor.
In April, 2005, Dana saw the shelter through the horrible distemper outbreak. Dana has made it one of her key priorities to send as many "unadoptable" animals to breed rescues as possible. Dana has taken on a personal interest in adoptions, to assure forever homes to those in need. She actively works with volunteers and staff alike to ensure the shelter is operating at its best. Although Dana's title is executive director, she can be found scrubbing kennels, cleaning cat cages, washing dishes and even doing a little laundry. Dana's goal is to continue to establish the roots in the community that can ensure that the Ellis County SPCA will flourish for decades to come.
